Student email

How important is it to check your SPC email… I never do but am afraid I might miss something important. Like did I need my SPC email for this question??

Dear Kelly,

Please check you SPC email regularly! It is of upmost importance that you do so.

All SPC students get very important updates on this email account. These emails can contain time sensitive information such as financial aid matters, your academic track completion, or even a message from a professor. Emergency alerts  may also be sent out to this account.

Additionally, if your personal email address listed on MySPC is not working, then automatically any important message that you might want to know about will be sent to the SPC email. I understand that it is hard to remember it since it was assigned not chosen. However, it can be easily accessed by logging on to MySPC and clicking on the email tab. It will take you directly to the inbox.

  1. Is there an option for a student to forward their SPC e-mail to their personal e-mail so they don’t have to check in two places? Some educational institutions offer that option, and it has proven to be very effective.

  2. With the new Outlook 365 email, it is possible to forward your SPC email to your main email account. From your email (accessed via MySPC), click on Settings (the little gear icon in the top right part of the screen), Options, and then select “forward your email.”

It’s a great way to make sure you don’t miss anything important.
